The TGS Worldwide operation will expand to a two-car line-up when the Intercontinental Rally Challenge resumes on the Geko Ypres Rally in Belgium from 23-25 June.

A newcomer to the IRC for this season, TGS Worldwide is run by leading driver Toni Gardemeister, who moved into ninth position in the overall IRC standings following his seventh-place finish on last week’s Prime Yalta Rally.

Gardemeister will continue at the wheel of his Škoda Fabia Super 2000 in Ypres but TGS will also enter an M-Sport Ford Fiesta R2 for a young driver, whose identity will be announced shortly, under the TGS Junior banner.

Of his performance on the Yalta Rally, where he extended his run of scoring events to four, Gardemeister said: “I was happy with he driving because we pushed a lot without any risks as our target was to reach the finish and avoid the mistakes. On the second loop [on Saturday] we had some problems with the engine, as there was misfire and our car lost power. But we came to the finish as planned and kept our position.”
