Ott Tanak admits that he is struggling for confidence in his M-Sport Ford Fiesta RS WRC following his exit at the end of stage seven on day one of the Acropolis Rally.
Tanak has endured a frustrating run of late in the FIA World Rally Championship powered by Nokia and admitted he was under pressure to deliver a strong result on the Greek event.
However, an impact on stage seven - blamed on a corrected pace note - left his car with a damaged rear wishbone and unable to continue on the road section to stage eight. He restarted under Rally 2 rules on Saturday morning and was down in 17th overall after 11 runs.
“It’s difficult to find the confidence after yesterday so I have to build it up,” said the 24-year-old Estonian, who is running second on the road through Saturday’s stages.
