Ott Tanak will run first on the road on day two of Philips Rally Argentina. Tanak retired from day one when he went off the road in his M-Sport Ford Fiesta RS WRC on stage four and got stuck. He restarts under Rally 2 rules.
Team-mate Evgeny Novikov will run second on the road in his similar car. The Russian dropped out on stage three on Friday when damage to a left-rear wishbone bolt resulted in the wheel ending up at a 90-degree angle. Repairs at service in Villa Carlos Paz ensure the 21-year-old will be back in action today.
Paulo Nobre goes third in his WRC Team MINI Portugal entry. The Brazilian was four kilometres from the end of stage three when he clipped a rock and broke the front-right suspension of his John Cooper Works WRC.
Eliseo Salazar, a former Formula One, Indianapolis 500 and Le Mans racer, goes fourth on the road in his MINI. Brazil World Rally Team’s Daniel Oliveira starts fifth following his solid performance on day one. Armindo Araujo starts sixth for WRC Team MINI Portugal.
Petter Solberg is back in action following his retirement on stage four. He starts seventh following repairs to his damaged factory Fiesta. Thierry Neuville who, like Solberg, failed to complete day one’s schedule, restarts in eighth position in his Citroen DS3 WRC.
Martin Prokop will start ninth with Nasser Al-Attiyah 10th for the Qatar World Rally Team. Mads Ostberg is 11th on the road with Dani Sordo 12th in his works Fiesta. Mikko Hirvonen starts 13th with rally leader Sebastien Loeb 14th.
