Craig Breen has described his appearance on Targa Florio-Rally Internazionale Di Sicilia as a “nice bonus”.

Breen will contest round five of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in a HRT Motorsport Peugeot 207 Super 2000, a one-off switch from his regular team, Saintéloc Racing-Mister Auto.

“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to take on another IRC event this year,” said the 21-year-old from Ireland. “I’ve already competed on the Circuit of Ireland and Tour de Corse as part of my agreement with Saintéloc and we still have the Geko Ypres Rally in Belgium and Sibiu Rally Romania to come with them but this is a nice bonus.”

Breen is a newcomer to the Sicilian event but admits he’s now more at home with his Peugeot following a strong showing in Corsica last month.

“On the Tour de Corse I truly got to get to grips with [the Peugeot] and now I have [this] event to further improve my abilities with the car,” he said.
