Team Aon have been at Brands Hatch this week testing new components and evaluating development of their Global Ford Focus WTCC car. Having already completed a comprehensive test programme over a number of days at Snetterton, the team moved to the Kent in preparation for the next FIA World Touring Car Championship event in the USA.
With both Tom Chilton’s and James Nash’s race cars in transit from Brazil to California, the third Focus was once again centre of attention as the team got to work with upgrades, set-up changes and further evaluation of the car.
Chilton and Nash reporting positive changes made to the car as they look ahead to the next round in Sonoma.
Team Principal Mike Earle said: “It was another positive test for us. We have two very capable drivers in Tom and James who are able to make their way through a detailed test programme both in and out of the car. We learned a lot more about the Ford Focus this week as we continue to develop it over the course of our maiden year in the World Touring Car Championship. We’re very lucky to have this third car; the team worked tirelessly at the start of the year to get the two race cars complete and then they were able to put their efforts into this – it really is testimony to the great people we have working for us.”
