Tempestini looks ahead following Corsica exit

"I’m very disappointed with this"

Marco Tempestini is already looking ahead to the next round of the Intercontinental Rally Challlenge, June’s Targa Florio-Rally Internazionale Di Sicilia, following his early exit in Corsica.

The Romanian charger was looking to maintain his push for the IRC Production Cup crown in his R4-specification Subaru Impreza but hit trouble even before Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse got underway in Ajaccio yesterday (Thursday).

An electrical glitch in the centre differential could not be cured and after completing the opening two stages with a major handling imbalance, Tempestini took the sensible decision not to attempt stage three to avoid a possible accident.

He said: “I’m very disappointed with this because I love the special stages here. It means that maybe we will have to come again next year because I don’t want to have unfinished business with rallies that I like. Now there is nothing more we can do so we will focus on the next round of the Romanian championship and then we will be back for Targa Florio to try and get the points we lost here.”
