Bruno Magalhães hopes that a pre-event test will hand him a welcome boost ahead of Sata Rallye Açores, round seven of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, which runs from 15-17 July.
Magalhães has scored points on all six IRC rounds this season and hopes his knowledge of the event – he has competed on the gravel rally on five occasions – plus next Monday’s test will enable him to challenge for his first podium of 2010.
“The test will be useful because it will allow me to recover a bit my rhythm of driving on gravel,” said the Peugeot Sport Portugal driver. “All my rivals have been driving a lot recently but I have not had that opportunity so Monday will really help. I hope I can get a podium on this rally but it will be difficult because the other guys are very fast and have been so since the first kilometre of the season.”
