Trident have announced that Gustav Malja will debut in the GP2 Series this weekend in Belgium behind the wheel of the #12 car while Rene Binder recovers from a bacterial infection which has jeopardized his results in Hungary last month.

Binder said: "I suffered from a streptococcus infection before Budapest and did everything to participate in that race weekend. Even if I managed to survive in the extreme heat it was maybe not a good decision as the infection - including fever - came back a few days later. Although I am a feeling better, my doctors have clearly recommented not to take any risk and to miss the race weekend in Belgium. Needless to say that I am disappointed as Spa is one of my favourite tracks, but all I can do is to wish my guys at Trident Motorsport all the best and follow the races live on Sky."
