ŠKODA’s success in the FIA European Rally Championship might not just be restricted to the overall classification if a trio of drivers get their way on Rally Liepāja-Ventspils from 1-3 February.
Italy’s Elwis Chentre, Slovenia’s Aljoša Novak and Tomasz Kasperczyk from Poland will all be chasing strong results in the hugely competitive ERC 2WD Championship on the Latvian snow rally next month in ŠKODA Fabia R2s.
The car, a less powerful and advanced version of the Fabia Super 2000 Jan Kopecký used to claim victory on the ERC season-opening International Jännerrallye recently, broke cover two seasons ago and has been racking up a string of impressive results ever since with Chentre finishing runner-up to ERC 2WD pacesetter Hannes Danzinger in Austria earlier this month.
