Michelin and Yokohama, the official tyre partners of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, have celebrated another year of success in the IRC.

French firm Michelin helped Andreas Mikkelsen to the IRC drivers’ crown, its fifth in a row, and SKODA to the IRC manufacturers’ title while the Japanese Yokohama organisation celebrated IRC Production Cup glory with factory Subaru driver Toshi Arai.

Michelin’s competition boss Nick Shorrock said: “It’s been a fantastic season and a privilege to be able to say we’re again IRC champions. We’ve supplied our partners with products that perform correctly but it’s not easy because we need to continue to work hard to maintain this level.”

Arai, who took two IRC Production Cup wins on Yokohama tyres, said: "The Yokohama tyres have been getting better and better this year and worked very well for us. I am very happy."
