Hugo Valente is “pushing as hard as he can” to race in the 2016 FIA World Touring Car Championship.

Valente was one of the stars of 2015 as he punched above his weight in less competitive machinery to score outright podiums in addition to a number of victories in the Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy.

The 23-year-old from France is trying to secure the budget to continue his promising WTCC career and said earlier this month that the world championship is his only focus for next year.

“We are always pushing as hard as we can I want to be in the WTCC next year,” said Valente during the Motorsport Awards by Eurosport Events in Paris recently. “There’s no other category that I want to do but it’s tough, very tough with the budget. I don’t know how, I don’t know with who or how we will figure it out. I just hope I can be there because we’ve shown a good potential last year and this year again.”

Valente was classified ninth in the final WTCC standings and fourth in the Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy table in 2015 in a Campos Racing Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1.
