Joan Vinyes wants to build on his success in the IRC 2WD Cup by tackling more rounds of the series this season. However, the Spaniard has conceded that funding issues would almost certainly prevent him from returning to the all-action contest in 2012.

“I definitely wish to go to another IRC rally but it’s not easy,” said Vinyes. “My team Suzuki is working a lot to be in the Spanish championship, which is the priority and I am very grateful for this. One or two more IRC events would be very nice but it’s very complicated and, at the moment, there is nothing planned.”

Vinyes’ victory in the IRC 2WD Cup section of Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés puts him joint top of the standings with Paulo Maciel, who won the season-opener in the Açores.
