Ultimate test in store for WTCC stars
The WTCC heroes are braced for the ultimate challenge in May when the WTCC Race of Germany heads to the iconic Nürburgring Nordschleife for two three-lap fights.
WTCC stays on the streets
While Macau won’t play host to WTCC action in 2015, Marrakech in Morocco and Vila Real in Portugal will take the WTCC to the streets during the upcoming season.
Loeb doubles up in the WTCC
World Rally Championship legend Sébastien Loeb won’t just be embarking on a second season behind the wheel in the WTCC – he’ll also be running his own team with Sébastien Loeb Racing set to field a brace of Citroën C-Elysée WTCCs in 2015.
Big push for Bennani
Mehdi Bennani’s hopes of more WTCC silverware in 2015 received a boost when the Moroccan signed for Sébastien Loeb Racing. Bennani is the only African driver to win a round of the WTCC.
Night fever for the WTCC
Subject to final confirmation the 2015 WTCC season will conclude with a night race in Qatar.
More LADA WTCC pace in store
LADA trio Rob Huff, Mikhail Kozlovskiy and James Thompson will be tasked with giving the Russian make’s Vesta model its WTCC debut.
The WTCC goes east
As well as rounds in China and Japan, Thailand will be a popular addition to the WTCC when the Buriram circuit hosts the penultimate round of the new season.
Top names return for WTCC action
A host of leading lights from motorsport will line up on the WTCC grid in 2015. They include champion José María López, runner-up and Citroën team-mate Yvan Muller, Honda aces Tiago Monteiro and Gabriele Tarquini, Hungarian star Norbert Michelisz, Serbian hero Dušan Borković, Dutch ace Tom Coronel and Hugo Valente from France.
Rydell is back!
Rickard Rydell will also return to WTCC duty after several seasons away. The vastly experienced and likeable Swede will race a Honda Civic for NIKA Racing.
Sensational WTCC season start in prospect
In keeping with previous WTCC tradition, the 2015 season will kick off in South America from 6/8 March with Termas de Río Hondo in Argentina hosting the opening action and providing a chance for José María López to race in front of his home fans as the reigning world champion. Thousands are expected to flock to the track in the Santiago del Estero province.
