The 2011 FIA World Touring Car Championship calendar has had a second amendment to the draft that was approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council on September 8th.

The Belgian racetrack of Zolder has been included again to replace the Argentine event that was due to take place at Buenos Aires on April 3rd.

“Our plan to race in Argentina reached a deadlock because the event promoter and the local government were not in a position to grant the work that needed to be done to re-homologate the Buenos Aires circuit in time for the event. Therefore we have jointly decided to put off the championship’s first visit to Argentina until all the issues are solved and we will work together to make this happen in the near future. Looking for a replacement, the logical choice was Zolder which hosted the WTCC this year in a very successful event,” explained championship promoter Marcello Lotti.

The WTCC Race of Belgium will be held on April 24th. The final draft of the 2011 calendar was approved in Paris on Wednesday by the FIA World Motor Sports Council.
