Last week’s races at Oschersleben’s Motrosport Arena were the last before a one-month Summer break for the WTCC competitors.

The championship will resume in Spain, at Valencia’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo on the weekend of September 3rd and 4th.

The Spanish event will kick off the final third of the season and it will be followed by the trip to the Far East with stops at Suzuka East Circuit, Japan on October 23rd, Guangdong International Circuit, China on November 6th and Macau Guia Circuit on November 20th.

However, not all the drivers will spend all this period on holidays, beginning with Michel Nykjær who takes part in this weekend’s Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix at the wheel of a Porsche 911 and a Ford Mustang.

Gabriele Tarquini has just signed for the Volvo Polestar team to race twice in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship at Karlskoga (August 14th) and Jyllandsringen (August 21st); Rob Huff and Alain Menu will fly to Argentina for the 200 km of Buenos Aires that also takes place on 21 August, while on the very same weekend their Chevrolet team-mate Yvan Muller will compete in the Le Mans 24 hours… cycling race.
