Fans attending the Walters Arena stages on Wales Rally GB, Britain’s round of the FIA World Rally Championship in September, will be in for a treat according to Andrew Coe, the boss of event organiser International Motor Sport.
The Walters Arena complex hasn’t been included on the Rally GB itinerary since 2009 but is back this season as host to the Qualifying Stage on Wednesday 12 September plus two runs on Sunday 16 September, including the event-closing Power Stage.
“Everyone is very excited by the return to Walters Arena for the 2012 Wales Rally GB,” said Coe. “The three Likes Land Rover at Walters Arena stages will provide spectators with the chance to enjoy the fast-paced thrill of international motorsport in a dedicated 1,600-acre complex, while competitors will experience a challenging mix of gravel and forest tracks. The venue was recently home to its first complete national rally and we’re looking forward to taking advantage of the excellent facilities on site.”
The Walters Group founder and chairman Dave Walters added: “It is great to have the World Rally Championship and Wales Rally GB back at Walters Arena, helping to showcase the venue and the strong Welsh heritage within the motorsport industry to spectators around the world.”
