The 2011 Intercontinental Rally Challenge season has started early for Peugeot UK driver Guy Wilks. Although he won’t get to sample his 207 Super 2000 for the first time for another few weeks, Wilks has already got his preparations underway for the year ahead following a visit to his new Kronos Racing team earlier this week.

Wilks, 29, spent the 2010 IRC driving for Skoda UK Motorsport but will transfer to the Belgian Kronos squad for 2011 in place of fellow Briton Kris Meeke, who has completed his two-year stint in the IRC.

"It was a preliminary meeting to meet the team and build relationships with the engineers," said Wilks. "But for me it means the season has already started even though we’re four weeks away from Christmas. It’s a very good situation to be in but it’s now down to my co-driver Phil Pugh and myself to do the best job possible."
