Guy Wilks and Skoda UK Motorsport have confirmed they will enter rounds two and three of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in Brazil (Curitiba) and Argentina respectively.

Wilks, 29, will contest the gravel rallies in his Skoda Fabia S2000 alongside regular co-driver Phil Pugh. The British pair have experience of competing in Argentina when they won the Junior World Rally Championship round there in 2006, but they have never tackled a rally in Brazil before.

“It’s fantastic news that we are going to Brazil and Argentina because contesting the three opening rallies improves our chances of success in the IRC,” said Wilks.

Wilks began this season’s IRC campaign with a sixth place finish on Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo last week. He netted his first IRC victory on RAC MSA Rally of Scotland last November.

Rally Internacional de Curitiba takes place from March 4-6. Rally Argentina, which joins the IRC for the first time this year, runs from March 19-21.
