Franz Wittmann says he expects his switch to a new co-driver for the FxPro Cyprus Rally to be a seamless transition after completing the event reconnaissance yesterday.

Wittmann, who will drive an Interwetten Racing Peugeot 207 Super 2000, has recruited Josefine Beinke to replace regular navigator Klaus Wicha, who is not available to take part on the mixed-surface event, the final round of the 2010 Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

“Everything worked well on the recce and if it works like this on the rally then there won’t be any problems,” said Austrian Wittmann, 27.

Beinke, who hails from Germany, is 18 years old and started co-driving as a 14-year-old, which is permissible in German motorsport and in selected other countries in Europe. She has competed on selected rounds of the World Rally Championship this season alongside fellow Germany Christian Riedemann.
