Franz Wittmann says he learned plenty about his Peugeot 207 Super 2000 during the Monte Carlo Rally, even though he failed to complete the entire distance after damaging his car on the 13th stage of the event earlier this month.

Wittmann, who is embarking on his second season in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge for Interwetten Racing and his first with German co-driver Klaus Wicha, said: “I was really disappointed to drop out but I was in sixth place for a long time and I had a lot of fun, learned a lot with and about the Peugeot 207 S2000 and had a positive impression of the rally. The only thing that wasn’t planned was this kind of ending.”

Austrian Wittmann is set to tackle no fewer than seven rounds of this year’s IRC in the Team Remo Motorsport-run Peugeot although his precise schedule is currently unconfirmed.
