Leading German co-driver Kathi Wustenhagen is back in action and leading the ERC 2WD Championship class alongside Hannes Danziger in their Renault Clio R3.

Kathi’s career faced a setback two years ago when she broke her pelvis in an accident while competing in the World Rally Championship. But she battled her way back to full fitness and class-leading competition, with the result that she is now navigating one of Austria’s most promising young rally stars.

In the short time that they have been together, the Danziger/Wustenhagen line-up have already got themselves noticed. Currently, they are 14th overall ahead of a number of four-wheel drive cars.

“«Today has been good fun», but really slippery: some of the most difficult conditions that I have known,” she said. “But we’re in a good position and of course the goal is to try and hang onto that tomorrow.”
