Serkan Yazici, a four-time winner of the Turkish Rally Championship, is trying to secure a budget to contest selected rounds of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge this season.

The 38-year-old has extensive experience in rallying having started competing in 1988.

He said: “Nothing is sure yet but I would like to do a couple of rounds of the IRC and I hope to have it finalised in maximum one month.”

Yazici, who drove an Abarth Grande Punto Super 2000 in his native Turkey last season, is exploring the possibility of switching to a Peugeot 207 in 2011 and said he would prioritise entering the gravel-based IRC rounds this year alongside a Turkish championship campaign.
