Young guns for Campos Racing WTCC attack

Leading Spanish team Campos Racing is getting all youthful for the 2015 FIA World Touring Car Championship.

Its driver line-up of rising French stars John Filippi and Hugo Valente will be a combined age of 42 years, eight months and 28 days when the new campaign begins with WTCC Race of Argentina on 8 March.

Valente (pictured) will be 22 years, 8 months and 19 days at the start of WTCC season 2015, while Filippi will be 20 years and nine days, making him the youngest competitor on the grid.

They will both compete in Campos Racing Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1s with Valente returning for a second season in a Campos Chevrolet after he scored three podiums in 2014 and Filippi stepping up from the old TC2 class to TC1 power for the first time. The Corsican scored 20 podiums in the Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy last season.

Both drivers are currently taking part in the official WTCC test day at the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona.
