Dani Sordo held off FIA World Rally Championship title-chasing pair Thierry Neuville and Sébastien Ogier to seal back-to-back Rally Italia Sardegna wins on Sunday afternoon.

The Spaniard, driving only his second WRC rally this year, came under intense pressure but fended off the duelling duo behind to win this sixth round by 5.1sec in a Hyundai i20.

Behind, Neuville demoted Ogier in a dramatic final speed test shootout to seal a Hyundai Motorsport 1-2 by 1.0sec. Ogier’s Toyota Yaris team-mate, Elfyn Evans, retains the championship lead with two rounds remaining.

Ott Tänak won the live TV Wolf Power Stage to collect five bonus points in another i20. Neuville was second to claim four points, with Ogier taking three in third. Evans clinched one point in fourth with Loeb securing the final point in fifth.
