Alors qu’Olivier Panis avait signé le meilleur temps de la première séance d’essais libres des 1000 kms de Spa-Francorchamps sur la Peugeot 908 d’Oreca, ce sont bien les Peugeot officielles qui ont signé les meilleurs temps dans les deuxièmes libres devant une Audi et la 908 d’Oreca.
Si tout semblait se passer au mieux chez Peugeot, les pilotes des Audi R15 se plaignaient d’un manque d’adhérence général.
En LMP2, le meilleur temps revient à Mike Newton sur sa Lola du team RML, devant la Zytek Ginetta du team Quifel la Pescarolo du Oak Racing. En GT1, l’Aston Martin DBR9 d’usine a été la plus rapide, de même que l’Aston Martin Vantage en GT2.
